Danish Royals Celebrate 1915 Constitution Anniversary
Following on from last night’s concert, the Danish Royal Family was out in force to again mark the 100th anniversary of the 1915 Constitution. The family attended a reception at Christiansborg Palace, hosted by the Danish Parliament. Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte chatted in the sunshine outside the main entrance to the building while waiting for Queen Margrethe to arrive. Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II welcomed German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Copenhagen this morning, during the Chancellor’s day visit to the country. Chancellor Merkel had an audience with the Queen at Christian VII’s Palace in the Amalienborg complex. Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt was also present, before accompanying the Chancellor to meetings.
