Today, January 14, 2024 Queen Margrethe II of Denmark signed her abdication during an exceptional Council of State at Christiansborg Castle in Copenhagen. Queen Margrethe II will abdicate as Queen of Denmark on January 14. The 83-year-old queen announced this in her end-of-year speech. She has been on the throne for 52 years. Danish Royals Attend Opening of Parliament
