Norwegian Official Visit to Denmark: June 15-16

On Thursday June 15, Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja started a two-day official visit to Denmark.
The King and the Queen, arrived in at the port Copenhagen with the royal ship Norge, were officially welcomed by Queen Margrethe.
Following a lunch Amalienborg, in the afternoon the Royal Couple, along with Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, attended the official opening of a Danish-Norwegian business seminar at the Danish Industry and then they attended a panel debate titled: “Cooperation on green industrial development and a sustainable future”.
In the evening Queen Margrethe hosted gala dinner for the Norwegian Royal Couple in Christian VII’s Palace, Amalienborg. The Crown Prince and the Crown Princess were among the present.
Queen Margrethe, in her speech, stated that “Norway and Denmark are like two siblings. Not only do we share a long history, but together with the rest of the Nordic countries we also share fundamental values. Culture and language support and strengthen our common Nordic identity”.
On Friday June 16, Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja, accompanied by Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, spent the last day of the official visit to Denmark in Aarhus.
Then they moved to the DOKK1 culture house to attend the panel debate “Norway and Denmark – Stronger together for a green future” at the presence of representatives from the Danish and Norwegian business community.
Afterwards the Royal Couple and the Crown Prince Couple met with some Norwegian students.
At lunchtime the Royal Couple and the Crown Prince Couple attended a luncheon at Aarhus Town Hall.
In the afternoon the King, the Queen and Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary went back to the DOKK1 culture house to attend the LiteratureXchange, an international festival.
The official visit ended with a reception hosted by King Harald and Queen Sonja on the royal ship Norge for the Crown Prince Couple.
