New Year’s Receptions At The Grand Ducal Palace

On Wednesday January 10th, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg hosted New Year’s receptions at the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg City. The guests were members of Luxembourg’s Government, headed by Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, and the President and members of the House of Representatives. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie also attended.

Saudi King Creates New Anti-Corruption Committee, Has 11 Princes Arrested

Dutch King Installs New Government

King Willem-Alexander has installed the new Dutch government at Palace Noordeinde in The Hague this morning. It is the first time that the king installs a government, though he did install several ministers who joined the previous cabinet after the abdication of his mother in 2013. Poll: 68% of Surveyed Russians Do Not Want To Restore Monarchy

At the Grand Ducal Palace today, the Luxembourg Grand Duke and Grand Duchess welcomed members of Parliament and government for their annual New Year’s reception. King Felipe Swears In A New Spanish Government

After almost a full year with an official government, Spain’s new minority government led by Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, was sworn in today at Zarzuela Palace in front of King Felipe VI. Thirteen ministers either swore or promised to uphold their positions in relation to the constitution during the meeting. Prime Minister Rajoy won a parliamentary vote of confidence last Saturday to form a government.

King Willem-Alexander of The Netherlands ended a range of  unannounced visits yesterday with a visit to the cyber unit of the Dutch secret service.
