Funeral of Princess Alix of Luxembourg, Dowager Princess de Ligne

On February 16, the funeral of Princess Alix of Luxembourg, Dowager Princess de Ligne took place at the Saint-Pierre Church in Beloiel, Belgium. Princess Alix had passed away on 11 February at the age of 89 and leaves behind seven children, twenty grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, though one of her grandchildren, Prince Pedro of Brazil, was killed in a plane crash in 2006. The guests were members of Luxembourg’s Government, headed by Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, and the President and members of the House of Representatives. Two Be(ne)lux State Visits Announced

Two Benelux State Visits have been announced yesterday. Both state visits will take place in November. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde will be visiting India from November 5th to 11th. Luxembourg’s Grand Dukes Host Garden Party At Schloss Berg

On Friday, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg hosted their second garden party of the season at Schloss Berg. They were joined by Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie as they welcomed guests from the culture, sports, media, charity and business sectors for canapés and champagne in the castle’s gardens, as a military band provided a joyful atmosphere.

Royals Express Sorrow Over Manchester Attack

Europe’s heads of state have this morning expressed their sorrow and solidarity following the terrorist attack in Manchester last night, which killed 22 people when a bomb went off as people were leaving an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena. Diplomatic Reception Hosted At Château de Berg

Grand Duke Henri hosted a reception for members of the diplomatic corp on Tuesday April 4 at Château de Berg in central Luxembourg.  The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean Asselborn, was at the head of the diplomats assigned to Luxembourg for the reception. The Grand Duke, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie welcomed their guests and mingled with them throughout the reception.

Prince Sébastien Welcomes Parents To Sandhurst

Another Prince welcomed his parents to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst over the weekend, as Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg arrived at the Academy to visit their youngest son.
