Princess Laurentien Visits Denmark For Meeting With Marie

On Monday, Princess Laurentien of The Netherlands made the trip north to Denmark where she had a meeting with Princess Marie. The two women discussed literacy and ways to improve the reading skills of children. Also present for the meeting was Danish Minister for Education, Merete Riisager. Princess Marie is patron of the Danish UNESCO National Commission, while Princess Laurentien is the UNESCO Special Envoy on Literacy for Development.

Princess Marie Presents Scholarships to Women in Science

Princess Marie at UNESCO Conference

Princess Marie yesterday opened a UNESCO environmental conference for school leaders from both Asia and Europe in Soenderborg. The 100 educationalists will be working together on joint projects over the internet to help better the environment, which is, as Princess Marie said, very relevant with the climate summit being held in Copenhagen next month.
