Christmas Family Gathering At Fredensborg

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark invited her extended family for Christmas in Denmark this year, for the first large Christmas gathering since 2006. Prince Joachim and Family To Move To Copenhagen

The Danish Royal Court today revealed that the residence of Prince Joachim and his family, Schackenborg Castle, has been placed under the control of a foundation created to manage the castle, the estate and its farming commitments. New Danish Painting Unveiled

A new painting of the Danish Royal Family was unveiled last week, ahead of its display at Amalienborg. Thomas Kluge, a Danish artist who has previously painted portraits of members of the family on numerous occasions, was the man commissioned to create the portrait. The infant daughter of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie has been named Athena Marguerite Françoise Marie. The names were just announced during her christening at the Møgeltønder Church in Møgeltønder. Photos of Denmark’s Little Princess Released

The Danish Royal Court has published the long-awaited photographs of Denmark’s newest royal – the infant daughter of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie. The series of photographs, taken at Schackenborg Palace by Steen Brogaard, feature the little princess with her parents and older brothers, Princes Nikolai, Felix and Henrik. The infant was born on January 24th, and will be christened on May 20th.

Princess Marie is in labour and has been admitted to the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, the Danish Royal Court has confirmed.
