Approval Ratings Down for Henrik and Joachim

New approval ratings for the Danish Royal Family have shown that while all the royal family has dropped in approval ratings, it is Queen Margrethe II’s husband and younger son who have dropped their approval ratings dramatically since 2004. The stats, released yesterday, show that the Danish public have lost confidence in how the two men handle their public roles. June 11th is the 75th birthday of Prince Henrik, and the celebrations kick-started yesterday with a lunch and a concert. Earlier this morning, the Crown Prince Couple and their two children gathered outside Fredensborg Palace to begin celebrating once more. Pouring Rain to Kick-Start Henrik’s 75th Birthday Celebrations

Denmark’s Prince Consort, Prince Henrik, yesterday began the celebrations to mark his 75th birthday. Royal Dachshund Bites Royal Bodyguard

Evita, the 11-year-old dauchshund of Prince Henrik, has biten a royal bodyguard, leaving the man in hospital needing stitches and a tetanus shot. The incident occured on Saturday May 30th, when the guard was walking Evita around the gardens of the Danish royal summer residence, Fredensborg Palace. President Papoulias’ First Day in Denmark leads to Car Trouble

The Greek President and his wife have spent their first day in Denmark, after accepting an invitation from Queen Margrethe II. Prince Henrik Presents African Art ahead of Exhibition Opening

Earlier today, Prince Henrik attended a press conference at the Gl Holtegaard Museum of Modern Art to present and talk about his private collection of African art that will go on exhibition between May 2 and July 26. Danish Royals help celebrate Home Guard’s 60th Anniversary

The Danish Royal Family was out in force on Wednesday April 1st to help the Danish Home Guard celebrate their 60th anniversary. The eyes of royal-watchers were split between Crown Princess Mary in her military uniform and Princess Marie’s baby bump. The Danish Royal Court yesterday released a series of new portraits of the adult members of the family. The series of portraits were taken this past January, in conjunction with the New Year’s Courts.
