10th Wedding Anniversary of Haakon & Mette-Marit

Today, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit are celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. The couple married on August 25th 2001 in Oslo Cathedral. The engagement of Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby was announced on December 1st 2000. Royal Family Shows Support for Victims of Attacks in Norway

The Norwegian people grieve after the death of at least 92 people were killed in the double attack on Friday, July 22nd. At least seven people were killed in a bomb attack on the government quarter in Oslo; 85 people were shot dead as the same man ran amok on the nearby island of Utoeya. Märtha Louise Parachuting

Yesterday the Norwegian Princess Märtha Louise went parachuting, which was part of a Sports Association’s campaign. The aim of the campaign is to recruit more disabled people to sport. Crown Princess Mette-Marit paid a two day visit to Geneva. There she attended several meetings with humanitarian organisations. The meetings mainly focus on HIV/AIDS. Alexander Edward Christian Frederik was born in Norfolk (England) on July 2nd 1903 as the only son of Prince Carl of Denmark and Princess Maud of Wales, who later became King Haakon VII and Queen Maud of Noway.
