On Sunday February 11, a mass for Prince François at the church of St. Francis Xavier in Paris, France.

The mass was attended by members of the House of Orléans, as well as the Duchess of Württemberg and Princess Marie of Liechtenstein. The Count of Paris, Prince François’s father, was the only member of the family who was absent from the mass.

Prince François was the oldest son of the Count of Paris and his former wife, Duchess Marie Therese of Württemberg. Marie Therese had suffered from toxoplasmosis during her pregnancy with Prince François and his younger sister Princess Blanche, which left them both physically and mentally disabled, although François was two months old when it was realised that he suffered from a disability. François would have inherited the Count of Paris title from his father and been considered the “Dauphin” by royalists, but due to his disability the title was passed to his younger brother, Prince Jean and François was granted the title of Count of Clermont instead.

François died aged 56 on 30 December 2017 after suffering a bad fall.
