The cremation ceremony of King Rama IX have started in Thailand. The urn of the late king Bhumibol Adulyadej, 9th monarch of the Chakri dynasty, is transported to the crematorium at the Sanam Luang Royal Plaza in a solemn procession that lasts for several hours and is broadcasted live on television. July 7, 1960: During an official tour of the United States, 32-year-old King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand visited New York, where he was invited by the ‘King of Swing’, jazz clarinetist Benny Goodman to join him for a ‘jam’. The King was an accomplished saxophonist, and wrote 49 compositions during his lifetime.

Thai Royal Chariot Sent For Repairs In Preparation For Royal Cremation

The Royal Chariot that will be used in the cremation ceremony of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand has been removed from the Bangkok National Museum, with pieces of the vehicle being sent to the Traditional Arts Office in Nakhon Pathom for repair work.
