Jordan’s King Opens New Parliament Session
King Abdullah II of Jordan delivered yesterday his speech from the throne opening the 17th non-ordinary session of the Jordanian parliament.
The King addressed the newly-elected lower house members and urged them to shoulder their responsibility towards the success of this historic transformation towards parliamentary government and its development. Upon his arrival to the parliament, the King was welcomed by the prime minister and senior officials.
The ceremony was attended by Queen Rania, members of the royal family and government officials.
