Princess Lalla Meryem opens the 7th National Session of Children’s Parliament

Princess Lalla Meryem, chairwoman of the National Observatory for Child’s Rights and of the Children’s Parliament, chaired on Saturday at the parliament headquarters the official meeting of the 7th national session of the Children’s Parliament.

During this meeting, Princess Lalla Meryem read a message sent by King Mohammed VI to the participants in the session, Princess Lalla Meryem also followed the question session of the children MPs concerning matters related mainly to the ministries of Interior, Justice, Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, Health, National Education and Moroccan Expatriates and visited an exhibition organized by the children on the theme of environment.

The first session of the children’s parliament was held in 1999, and aims at enhancing dialogue between 357 children / members of parliament coming from all the regions of the Kingdom. It thus has a permanent framework made up of exchange and debate in order to contribute to the consolidation of citizenship and to take part in the question of the children’s rights through a direct interpellation by these children / members of parliament of the various spheres and components of Moroccan society.
