Crown Princess Mary Hosts Christmas Reception For The Mary Foundation
Dressed in a colour-apt frock, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark hosted a Christmas reception at Amalienborg on Thursday afternoon for staff and collaborators of The Mary Foundation.
The Crown Princess used the event to thank those who have contributed to the work of the Foundation, which she launched in September 2007, over the past year.
Earlier in the day, Mary had visited Frederiksberg where she attended a tennis day hosted by the Children’s Aid Foundation, of which she is patron. The Princess joined Danish tennis ace Caroline Wozniacki (who brought along her new fiancee, American former basketballer David Lee), who took the 25 children participating in the day through a series of tennis skill workshops.
Events like these give the children, who live in care, “self-confidence”, Crown Princess Mary said to reporters.

H.K.H. Kronprinsessen besøgte i dag som protektor Børnehjælpsdagens tennisevent med tennisspiller Caroline Wozniacki. Her deltog 25 anbragte børn i alderen 10-18 år. Børnehjælpsdagen arbejder for at hjælpe anbragte børn godt på vej, blandt andet ved at opfordre børnene til at give sig i kast med fysisk aktivitet.
