Gå Danmark! Royal Audience Watches FIFA World Cup Play-Off

On Saturday evening, members of the Danish Royal Family joined thousands of football fans at Copenhagen’s Parken Stadion for the first leg of the FIFA 2018 World Cup play-off matches between Denmark and the Republic of Ireland.

Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Christian, Prince Joachim and Prince Felix sat in the stands for the match after arriving separately.

The royal party – like the rest of the Danish supporters – went home disappointed, as the match ended in a draw (Denmark’s World Cup hopes now rest on the second leg of the play-off, which will be played in Ireland on Tuesday night.
