Wladimir de Witt, son of Princess Clothilde Napoleon (1912-1996) and her husband Serge de Witt (1891-1990), died on Jan 8, aged 71.

He was born on Jan 27, 1952. In 1976, he married Marguerite Mautner von Markhof (*1954) and had three children: Elena (*1977), Victor (*1979), and Segolene (*1983). They divorced in 1993, and that same year he married Francoise Martin-Flory (*1959). They had three more children: Hortense (*1995), Dimitri (*1997), and Igor (*2001).

Captain Michael Charles Gordon Lennox, OBE, RN, who died 10 January, 2024, aged 85, was a scion of the Dukes of Richmond and Gordon, a descendant of the 7th Duke.

He was born 30 September, 1938, 1st son of Rear-Admiral Sir Alexander Henry Charles Gordon Lennox, KCVO, CB, DSO (1911-1987), and his wife the former Barbara Steele (1913-87); and married 1974, Jennifer Susan (Jenny) Gibbs (born 12 May, 1944), scion of the Barons Aldenham, daughter of Capt the Hon Vicary Paul Gibbs (1921-1944), and his wife Jean Frances Hambro (1923-2017) (she married 2ndly in 1946, Rev the Hon Andrew Charles Victor Elphinstone (1918-1975), a first cousin of HM Queen Elizabeth II).

His wife, Dame Jennifer Susan Gordon Lennox, DCVO, was a Woman of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and later to HM Queen Elizabeth II, and was appointed CVO, and advanced to DCVO in the honours list following the demise of the late Queen.

Capt Gordon Lennox leaves issue, a son Hamish Charles (born 11 June, 1980), and two daughters, Lucinda Jean (born 19 Sept, 1975), and Charlotte Louise (born 18 Sept, 1978).

The Dowager Duchess of Rutland, who died 21 January, 2024, aged 86, was the second wife and widow of the 10th Duke of Rutland, mother of the 11th Duke, and daughter of Margaret, Duchess of Argyll.

She was for forty years the chatelaine of Belvoir Castle, Rutland.

She was born 19 June, 1937 at Frances Helen Sweeny, daughter of Charles Francis Sweeny (1909-1993), the American golfer and socialite, and his 1st wife (Ethel) Margaret Whigham (1912-1993), the Scottish debutante, who after her divorce from Sweeny married secondly, 22 March, 1951, as his third wife, the 11th Duke of Argyll (1903-1973), and went through a scandalous divorce from the peer in 1963.

Frances Sweeny, a beautiful debutante in the 1950s married 15 May, 1958, as his second wife, Charles John Robert Manners, the 10th Duke of Rutland, CBE (1919-1999), of Belvoir Castle, Rutland, by whom she issue three sons, David Charles Robert, the 11th Duke (born 8 May, 1959), Lord Robert George Manners (1961-1964), and Lord Edward John Manners (born 29 May, 1965), and a daughter, Lady Helen Theresa Margaret Manners (born 11 November, 1962).

She was widowed 2 January, 1999, and took the style Dowager Duchess of Rutland.

Her grandchildren include the socialites Lady Violet, Lady Alice and Lady Eliza Manners, Charles, styled Marquis of Granby, and Lord Hugo Manners, twins Ivor and Warwick Chipman, and twins Ivo and Vesey Manners.

Prince Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy, Prince of Naples, de jure King of Italy, died 3 February 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland, aged 86. He was a son of the last King of Italy Umberto II and disputed head of the House of Savoy.

Vittorio Emanuele was born 12 February 1937 in Naples to Umberto, Prince of Piedmont, who would later become the last King of Italy as Umberto II, and Princess Marie-José of Belgium. When Umberto II left Italy after the monarchy was abolished by the 1946 Italian institutional referendum, the remaining members of the House of Savoy lived in exile, mostly in Switzerland and on the Portuguese Riviera, though the former king Victor Emmanuel III, grandfather to Vittorio Emanuele, lived in Egypt until his death in 1947. Following the separation of the exiled ex-King and ex-Queen, Vittorio Emanuele lived with his mother in an estate in Merlinge, Switzerland. Later Vittorio Emanuele and his family lived in Geneva.

Vittorio Emanuele has been married to Marina Doria since 1971 and had one son, Emanuele Filiberto, Prince of Venice (who is married to Clotilde Coreau and has two daughters).

Princess Virginia von Fürstenberg (Virginia Carolina Theresa Pancrazia Galdina Prinzessin zu Fürstenberg; born 18 April 1940), known professionally as Ira von Fürstenberg, it was an Italian socialite, actress, jewelry designer, and former public relations manager for the fashion designer Valentino Garavani.
The daughter of Prince Tassilo zu Fürstenberg and his first wife, Clara Agnelli, she was born in Rome, Italy. Her paternal grandparents were Prince Karl Emil von Fürstenberg (1867–1945) and the Hungarian Countess Mária Matild Georgina Festetics von Tolna (24 May 1881– 2 March 1953), who was the daughter of Prince Tassilo Festetics von Tolna and Lady Mary Victoria Douglas-Hamilton. Her maternal great-grandmother was an American heiress, Jane Bourbon del Monte, Princess di San Faustino (née Campbell).

Duke Alexander Eugen of Württemberg died on 18.02.2024 in Munich He was one of the sons of Duke Albrecht Eugen and his wife Nadeja, née Princess of Bulgaria. With his death his sister Sophie remains as the last living member of this branch of the Family

The british peer, investment banker, art collector and philantropist Jacob Rothschild, 4th Baron Rothschild OM, GBE, CVO has died at the age of 87.



He is succeeded in his titles by his son Nathaniel Rotschild as the 5:th Baron Rotschild.

His wife ,Lady Rothschild died a few years ago and was a famous racehorse owner.

As far as I have seen, his death was officially announced only after the service, probably with the reason.
 
Hello, Her Grace Iona Mary Dowager Duchess of Argyll née Colqhoun died on 22nd February 2024. She was born 21st January 1945 as daughter of Hon, ivar Ian Colqhoun, 8th baronnet (1916-2008)
and of his wife née Kathleen Nimmo Duncan (1922-2007)
She married Ian Campbell, 12th Duke of Argyll (1937-2001) in 1964.
They had two children Torquhil Ian, 13th Duke of Argyll (1968) and Lady Louise Iona (1972).
