Denmark’s young Prince Henrik and Princess Athena joined their father, Prince Joachim, on his official engagement in Kerteminde, as he officially opened the new underwater research facility of Fjord&Bælt.

The two youngsters were given the opportunity to watch a fish feeding session, which Athena thought was the bees knees of tasks, attempting to reach into the tank to pet the fish swimming nearby (luckily Prince Joachim was quick and pulled her arm back before the young Princess was soaked!). Henrik and Athena were also allowed to pet a crab as they went on a tour of the centre with biologist Julie Møller Madsen, while their far was completing the official portion of the opening – listening to speeches from the centre’s CEO.

Fjord&Bælt is a tourist attraction and research centre that focuses on studying the life that is present in the fjords and belts of Denmark. It is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
