Whoops! Countess of Wessex Accidentally Sends Ball Flying Towards Photographers At Hockey Event

The Countess of Wessex lined up to take aim at the goal net during a visit to the English men’s hockey team today at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, but unfortunately for her, her shot didn’t follow quite the course and instead went flying off to the side narrowly missing the pack of press photographers covering the event.

As she watched where the ball ended up, Sophie’s hand flew to her mouth in shock before covering her eyes, raising a hand in apology and then having a little chuckle at the mishap.

Dressed in a simple navy pant suit – and a pair of fluro aqua runners – the Countess happily took to the field with the team during their training session after she met with England Hockey’s new chair, Royston Hoggarth.

Sophie has been patron of England Hockey since 2006.
