King Juan Carlos ‘Comfortable’ Following Latest Surgery

King Juan Carlos is reported to be comfortable and in recovery following a successful temporary hip replacement, but will need further surgery in two months time. The 75 year old Spanish Monarch underwent the surgery last Tuesday at Madrid’s Quiron hospital.

Over the past few days, the King has recieved family visits from the Queen and Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia with their daughters, Infantas Leonor and Sofia. Infanta Elena and her son Don Felipe de Marichalar also paid visits, as did Infanta Cristina.

Today the King’s younger sister, Infanta Margarita, was accompanied by her daughter Doña María Zurita and Queen Sofia on a visit to the hospital.
