The Dutch Royal Court has announced that Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven, the husband of Princess Margriet, has been diagnosed with melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer. He will undergo outpatient surgery at the Dutch Cancer Institute / Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital in Amsterdam in the coming days. As such, his engagements in the near future have been cancelled.
