The clan van Vollenhoven today participated in De Hollandse 100, a charity skating and cycling event to raise money for the lymphoma research charity, Lymph & Co, that was founded by Prince Bernhard. Prince Maurits was today appointed to the post of aide-de-camp extraordinary to his cousin, King Willem-Alexander. The new King also promoted his cousin to the rank of Captain-Lieutenant in the Dutch Royal Navy. These new appointments mean that Prince Maurits can attend and represent King Willem-Alexander at military ceremonies. His military uniform will bear the monogram of the King.
