Like every year, the Dutch Royal Family attended the National Volunteer Day, NL DOET, on March 20 and 21. The Dutch Royal Family yesterday celebrated the first Koningsdag in 124 years, in the towns of De Rijp and Amstelveen. These were the towns originally scheduled for the event in 2013, but were postponed due to the abdication ceremonies. The Dutch Royal Family participated on Friday March 21 in the National Volunteer Day, NL DOET. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima helped at the zoo Akkertje in Rijswijk. The Dutch Royal Family yesterday celebrated the official birthday of Queen Beatrix, Koninginnedag, in the towns of Rhenen and Veenendaal.
