Bienvenido! King Felipe and Queen Letizia Host Lunch For Costa Rican President

At the Royal Palace of Madrid, the King and Queen of Spain have hosted a luncheon for the visiting Costa Rican President. President Luis Guillermo Solís and his wife Mercedes Peñas Domingo are currently on an official visit to Spain.

King Felipe and President Solís had a photocall in the Palace gardens ahead of the lunch, which was attended by a variety of people connected to both countries.

Describing the Central American country as a “highly respected player in the international arena and a partner with whom the European Union can fully count on,” King Felipe said that the relationship between Spain and Costa Rica was even stronger – “it is a friend and a brother”.
