King Carl Gustaf Presents 2016 Stockholm Water Prize
King Carl XVI Gustaf this evening presented the 2016 Stockholm Water Prize to American Professor Joan B. Rose for her “enormous contribution to global public health” through the identification and assessment of health hazards in water.
Taking place at the Stockholm Town Hall, the ceremony was followed by a banquet, during which the King gave a speech that discussed the necessity of clean water in being able to preserve the environment for future generations.

He also praised Professor Rose, thanking her for her tireless contributions and praising her ability to teach us “that everyone can make a difference.”
Queen Silvia, wearing a lovely electric blue dress with a bow at the neckline, also attended the award ceremony and banquet.
