Three Royals As Godparents for Prince Oscar

The Swedish Royal Court has announced the godparents of little Prince Oscar ahead of his christening tomorrow.

Oscar’s godparents are Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, Princess Madeleine of Sweden, Oscar Magnuson and Hans Åström.

Princess Madeleine is no surprise, considering Crown Princess Victoria’s brother is godparent to her eldest child; while the two other royals are also unsurprising considering the close relationship between the Scandinavian royal families.

Oscar Magnuson is Victoria’s first cousin, while Hans Åström is a cousin of Prince Daniel (and a world champion bandy player).
