Several royals have attended the ‘ThankYou’ gala held by the World Childhood Foundation at the Plaza Hotel last night.

Queen Silvia, who founded the organisation in 1999, was the star of the show, presenting Jordan’s Queen Rania with the inaugural ‘ThankYou’ award during the event. Rania, dressed in a pair of black bell-bottomed formal trousers and a white and black lace blouse, was recognised for her tireless work ensuring “her home country of Jordan remains a safe harbour for the hundreds of thousands of children fleeing conflicts and wars.”

Other winners of the ‘ThankYou’ award were Swedish furniture giant IKEA, for their substantial donations to children in need, and Marilyn Carlson Nelson, the former chairwoman and CEO of Carlson Inc., for her work against human trafficking.

Also in attendance was Princess Alexandra of Greece, daughter of Prince Michael, who wore a blush pink evening dress with a red and white floral print.
