Closing of the Octave Celebrated in Luxembourg
The Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg today celebrated the closing of the Octave of Our Lady of Luxembourg, one of Luxembourg’s most important religious ceremonies.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa was joined by two of her sons, Princes Félix and Louis, and one daughter-in-law, Tessy, in the morning for the mass at the Cathedrale de Luxembourg held in honour of the event.
Later, the family was joined by Grand Duke Henri, Princess Claire and the young Princes Gabriel and Noah for the procession from the Cathedrale to the Grand Ducal Palace, which also includes a blessing outside the palace. A large number of the public lined the streets to celebrate with the family.
To conclude the day, the family appeared on the palace balcony, and the youngest member of the Nassau family made her balcony debut – Princess Amalia looked on as a band played the national anthem and other marches from the arms of her mother Claire.
