The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, who are currently in the midst of a ten day tour of South America, paid a visit to an organic farm in rural Chile today. TRH visited the Emiliana vineyard outside the Chilean capital of Santiago. The vineyard, owned and operated by Rafael and Jose Guilisasti, focuses on the development of organic wine production in Chile. For more information, on the vineyard please visit the vineyard’s website.

Prince Charles is a outspoken supporter of organic farming. The Prince’s private residence, Highgrove in Gloucestershire, was converted to organic farming in 1996. In 1990, the Prince of Wales launched Duchy Originals, which sells over 200 produced products, from food to garden furniture. The profits are donated to The Prince’s Charities.

The South American tour continues with scheduled visits to Brazil, Ecuador, and the Galapogos Islands. Read about the trip in this thread.
