I especially like the red shoes Prince Christian and Prince Vincent wore. Which shoe company sells them?

In between the running, Frederik also took part in laying some bricks

and Mary walking with some of the children from her patronage, Julemærkehjemme, fighting against bullying

Young people will get older and with age comes an interest in tradition and history. I don't know why there's so much talk about attracting the young, they're only interested in themselves, but they'll grow out of it and become conservative traditionalists and believers in social and political stability. Yup!

Exactly.

They will join the Royal Runs when they have children themselves and if it remains, when they have grandchildren.

It's a family/community event and young people in that age range are often busy simply being young and/or attend various parties now that the examinations in schools, high schools, technical schools and universities are ending. If you are 15-25 the early summer is often one big party.

It's the BT-guy again trying to be as clever as he think he is. ;)
Yesterday about 1.5 % of the entire population took part - and that was the official runs and not counting those who did volunteer work and did not take part.
So M&F doesn't have a problem.

Mary, Frederik and the kids are basically the official face of the DRF. Maybe next year have the kids do a bit of promotion for the event, like the videos Frederik did this year.

Yes, while the people in the age range mentioned will get older, that does not mean you just ignore them now and sit on your laurels and wait for them to age. Because then you will most likely lose them totally.

Plus you cannot just really rely on people suddenly becoming engrossed in all things tradition. You have to blend that with evolution and modernity.

Also, there are things to improve on to teach the younger heneration. For instance, the social media presence of the DRF needs improvement asap. Use the tools at their disposal. Social media is the way that age group engages and gets their information. Use IG better. Use YouTube. Get a Twitter. Put their speeches on YouTube. An 18 year old won't read a transcript of a speech...but they will watch the video of it. Cover M&Fs events better. They are seriously lacking in their PR efforts. They are involved in current, important and relevant topics that are of high interest to young people today. But you'd never know it given the abysmal coverage their events get!

Anyway, Mary and Frederik do represent both tradition and modernity perfectly. Maybe they....never mind.

Exactly. Moreover, I am not sure participation in a aports event is the best indicator of the future of the monarchy. Given that it was only started rather recently as a new tradition for Frederik's birthday, I'd say it has become a massive event in a very short time. So, if anything it is an indication of something done well by the DRF.

Getting a turnout equal to 1.5% of the population sounds impressive to me!

Plus, they're not celebrities, and this is not a proxy for their approval ratings.

Aarhus is close enough for us to make an outing out of it.

Wonder if I will be shanghaied to take part in a run... :ermm:

Very nice! Glad we see some new cities.
More information https://www.kongehuset.dk/nyheder/vaertsbyer-royal-run-202

I expect our Danish members to join ; )

Sure we will, sure, absolutely. If you will do your own royal run in San Diego. Well, anywhere in the US will do actually. ?

How about you invite all our US members - and Mexican - and Canadian - members, get together and organize your own royal run? You can run with your favorite royal on your T-shirts.
Actually, the more I think about this, the better I like the idea. :D

- I never knew you had a sadist streak, Polyesco.

"Over 55,000 have registered for Royal Run '24 in the last 24 hours!
Tonight we were able to report sold out in Brønderslev and Fredericia, and many are now asking if we are going to expand the capacity and make room for even more participants in the two cities."

Yep, and that includes the Muhler family in Aarhus. The 5 km. Except for dad-in-law, he will be watching the bags. Despite me volunteering to take over that tiresome burden for him...

"It's only been two months since the Royal Run opened for registration, and now the royal exercise event can be reported as completely sold out.*For 30 percent of the participants, it is the first time they are taking part in an exercise race."

What a success!

Success indeed! Something that started as Frederik's brain child for his 50th birthday has now become a huge annual event that brings all Danes together and is open to Danes if all ages and abilities! And just as Frederik set out to do originally....bring people together and create a sense of community.

The Royal Run had sold out on December 30th, but now new spaces are available.
