Today, HM The King receives the ambassador from India in a farewell audience
No pics. Under Queen Margrethe we usually got pics from it. Seems that since the new reign they are more sparse with pics from such Events.

Yes. They were pretty sparse under Margrethe too, hopefully the DRF gets ideas from other families on issuing photos from these type of events.

The DRF on today's public audience attendees.

One picture from inside wouldn't hurt

Hi speech at the launch of the Danish Center for AI Innovation.

DRF gallery

I read this on Billed-Bladet, "Due to a special clause, it was only possible to announce the actual launch at the Statens Museum for Kunst with the participation of the king this morning Danish time." This event was only added today to the calendar. Maybe due to it being AI, Danish expertise, special subject, etc?

More on the event and the supercomputer

Denmark will soon be home to Europe's strongest AI supercomputer. A national center for AI innovation is now being established. Huge potential and importance for the future healthcare system as well. Thank you for a great launch with H.M. Kongen at the helm

Hi speech at the launch of the Danish Center for AI Innovation.

BB has posted a nice long video of the King's engagement today: Kongen spår om fremtiden: Frederik lægger ikke skjul på, at det ser godt ud (video)

Novo Nordisk Fond has also posted on X (FKA Twitter) about the event with photos:

I will always +1 Fred bringing out the black frame glasses. LOL

I had to do some reading on this event.
It is the first AI-super computer in DK. Sponsored by Novo Nordisk (the medical company) it will be put at disposal for research and development by who needs the capacity, be that universities or private companies. It's a pretty big computer for a nation, but compared to the leading high-tech companies out there, it's pretty small.
But the countries that doesn't invest and set up AI-technology with big computers needed will be left behind in the dust.

King Frederik is right IMO. We should not be afraid of AI, but embrace it. - Because that cannot be reversed now. That ship has sailed.
It is my opinion that the generations alive right now, will be the last where Homo Sapiens is dominant. AI will take over, and soon. Whether that is a good thing is of course debatable. As I see it if the human race is to survive, we need someone else to take charge. Because we as a species are simply not intelligent and developed enough to harness the powers we have at our disposal today.
There will, I predict, be a few generations where there is a kind of symbiosis or merge if you will of humans and AI. That will be the best and brightest - and wealthiest first and foremost. As for the rest of us: We will eventually go extinct. We may hope we and our descendants will finally live in a kind of utopia before the end.

But what about freedom you ask? Human initiative? Drive? - Yeah, we sure are doing a great job right now with all that! And freedom is a relative term. Freedom from what? Freedom to do what?
Take the pet-dogs living in a nice warm, comfortable homes. Safe from predators. All their needs are taken care of. They are cared for, loved and often spoiled. - You give them the option between that life and being free to do what they want, on their own... - See what life they prefer.
How many humans would gladly swap their current "freedom" with a life akin to a house-pet? How many would be happy with having all their needs taken care of without worrying about how or taking responsibility, while watching The Kardashians 24/7?

We Homo Sapiens became one of the most dominant species that has ever lived on this planet. But in regards to evolution we may be reaching the end of the line. - With some of us being able to merge with AI and they may evolve further, for a while.
Is that a bad thing? Perhaps. For us. Is the alternative better? An alternative where Homo Sapiens (or Homo Moron) try and fix things on our own.
Some will find this reflection depressing. To that I will retort: Someone has to be among the last.

King Frederik received Sultan al-Jaber, United Arab Emirates' Minister of Industry and President of the past COP28 in Dubai today, March 21:

Earlier today, His Majesty the King received His Excellency Sultan al-Jaber, who is the United Arab Emirates' Minister of Industry and President of the just ended COP28 in Dubai. The reception took place in Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg, and Sultan al-Jaber was accompanied by Culture Minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt.As Crown Prince, His Majesty participated in the climate conference COP28 in December 2023. Every year, the UN gathers the world's leaders and key actors on the climate front to determine ambitions and responsibilities for global climate action. During the visit to Dubai, the King, together with Danish ministers and companies, represented Denmark and the country's role in the fight to achieve the UN's climate goals.Sultan al-Jaber has recently visited Denmark in connection with the holding of the Copenhagen Climate Dialogue, which is being held at Marienlyst with Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Dan Jørgensen as host.

Fantastic that we got a photo of his audience today. We know Frederik and Mary met with the climate ambassador in November before Frederik attended the climate summit COP28 in Dubai in December.

Thank you Muhler for the extra info on the AI-supercomputer in Denmark. Another article with video interview with Frederik
"King Frederik: Make artificial intelligence a partner and not an adversary
A new center for artificial intelligence in Denmark can benefit science in a number of areas, the king believes."

Great post and photos! It looked like a lovely event and as usual King Frederik in fine form.

A public audience was held today by King Frederik

some of the guests
Here is a lovely post of one of the individuals that attended the public audience today.

Thank you @Izzie , glad that the individuals post on their experience at the public audiences. There were a few on facebook too about meeting King Frederik.

so far, they are continuing Queen's Margrethe form of only sharing pictures of the guests outside and no pictures inside.
from the DRF

That's because an audience is a private meeting with the Monarch. A meeting where you could and should be able to confide whatever you wish to say in confidence to the Monarch.

My love for Frederik's naval uniform continues apace. LOL. I'm glad we got pictures!

Good to have pics. Interesting that he wears Uniform but no sash as King Felipe and King Philippe are doing. And also King Carl Gustaf.

I’ve always admired this tradition in Denmark

I don't think Frederik's ever worn a sash with his standard uniform. Felipe and Phillipe might be wearing ceremonial uniforms, or perhaps it's just the custom in Spain/Belgium to do so with standard military dress.

For those who are unfamiliar with the traditions regarding new ambassadors:
In DK we make a big show out of it.
The newly appointed ambassadors are direct representatives of the head of state of the country they are from, as such they are treated according to the protocol in the same way as the head of state would be received. And that means an escort by the Guards Hussars and an honor guard. - And as it is a festive occasion, many ambassadors take the opportunity to wear the national costume of their home country.
When they meet King Frederik they are presented and then they will greet the King and present their credentials. The moment King Frederik has accepted the credentials, they can act as ambassadors, not one second before. - The credentials are incidentally returned. They are only to be shown, pretty much like a passport or a certificate.
If several ambassadors are waiting for an audience with King Frederik, they will be wined and dined as befits a head of state, but they will be led into the room with the King in alphabetical order of their country. (So no snubbing for political reasons, or symbolic gestures or your country is more important than that country.) - I must confess that I'm sure whether the order of precedence is in Danish or French (the international diplomatic language) or English. It makes quite a difference though! Because in English the US ambassador is: The ambassador of the United States of America - and as such pretty far down the order of precedence. But in Danish it is: ambassadøren for Amerikas Forenede Stater - and now the ambassador is among the very first.

When all the ambassadors are together, like at the New Year Court for the diplomatic corps, the doyen/doyenne will speak for all the ambassadors present. And the doyen is always the ambassador who has served for the longest time in Denmark.
It would be considered seriously bad manners for an ambassador to speak for his/her own country and as such show disrespect for not only the diplomatic protocol but also the DRF protocol but also an insult to the doyen.
I don't know if it has happened, probably, but the rest of the diplomatic corps would look upon that ambassador as being an uncouth boor.

@Muhler , I learn something new every time from your post.
Amerikas Forenede Stater is Danish for USA. Of my 20 year plus of following the Danish royals and searching the Danish press, this is the fist time I have read this. : )

previously with Queen Margrethe we had seen pictures of the ambassadors being escorted by the Guards Hussars, love that they gave pictures of the King in uniform. Maybe because it was the first time for this event.

In day to day we just call it USA of course.

We have seen ambassadors being received before, mostly in documentaries, but on occasion on very slow news days as well.

King Frederik incidentally was wearing the full dress uniform of an admiral.

He looked wonderful in one of my favorite uniforms. I do hope posting photos of the ambassador audiences becomes the norm going forward tbh. This is, of course, one of the duties and responsibilities of the monarch and should be documented with what is really a simple post...especially since for some these occasions don't count as engagements although some other royal families would count it as 3 separate events.

I suppose he fell ill, because this was supposed to be a pretty important visit for Argentina.
Anyway the rest of the Argentinian delegation will come, so perhaps there will be an audience instead. - It's good diplomatic manners for the head of an visiting official delegation, whoever that may be now, to say hi to the head of state, that s King Frederik.
