Palace Releases Details of Fabiola’s Inheritance

Almost fourteen months after Queen Fabiola of the Belgians passed away, the palace announced that her inheritance has finally been distributed. The sole benificiary seems to be the ‘Aid Fund of the Queen’. The fund helps Belgians in need and is currently chaired by Queen Mathilde. Funeral of Queen Fabiola

Belgium’s Dowager Queen Fabiola, who died last Friday aged 86, was laid to rest today after two ceremonies in Brussels. The Belgian Royal Court today announced that Queen Fabiola, the widow of the late King Baudouin, has passed away at Stuyvenberg Castle in Brussels. Princess Astrid Takes Over Aunt’s Charity

Earlier this month, Queen Fabiola of the Belgians gave up her patronage of the the ‘Damiaanactie’ as her health prevents her from getting actually involved with the cause. The Flemish press is reporting that Queen Fabiola is currently resting at her villa in Spain. Earlier this month, the Belgian royal court announced that Queen Fabiola would not have any official duties in the near future as she is recoverning from a pneunomia. The Palace announced that Queen Fabiola will not attend any of the activities of the Royal Family in near future. This, as the announcement reads, is because Her Majesty is currently recovering from pneumonia; she feels exhausted and needs rest.
