Mette-Marit attended the AIDS Conference in Vienna
Crown Princess Mette-Marit was in Austria to attend the XVIII International AIDS Conference in Vienna. About 20,000 delegates from all over the world are participating in the conference.
Mette-Marit is a UNAIDS Special Representative since 2006 and her work focuses on strengthening youth leadership in the AIDS effort.
The conference in Vienna began on July 18th and will last until Friday 23 July. During this time different lectures, seminars, exhibitions and concerts will be held.
The Norwegian Crown Princess was in Vienna from July 17th to 19th.
On July 19th Crown Princess Mete-Marit opened the Youth Pavilion. This is a networking space for young people who fight against AIDS.
The youth perspective is a key issue throughout the entire week of the conference.
The Princess also attended two plenary presentations, on Positive Health, Dignity and Prevention and on HIV, Drug Policy and Harm Reduction. She also visited the Norwegian booth to speak to youth delegates from several HIV/AIDS organizations.
