The Duchess pulled off the casual look to perfection today, everything was well coordinated and appropriate for a walk in January.

Love the jacket, hate the skinny trousers. Yes she has fantastic legs, but this doesn’t mean they look good. She always rocks casual.

Because this is literally the type of outfit they use for her parody character in The Windsors. Scratch that, it's the type of outfit we see tv and media for British women in general when they're doing something outdoorsy. It's why I said it feels contrived to me.

OK I think I understand what you mean now but I'm still not sure what it is about her clothes today that says "parody" to you.

I can only answer from what I see around me & what she's wearing today wouldn't look exceptional in any garden centre, game fair, county show or any of the outdoor activities where I live (rural England). It's how lots of people dress because it's practical & comfortable outdoors. Colder or wetter days bring out the Barbours & wellies but tweedy things are everywhere & everyone looks greeny-brown at outdoor events.

The quality of her jacket is top notch but you can see plenty of similar jackets in farm supply shops (I'm not a farmer but I have chickens so I go to farm shops regularly).

A nice look for Catherine today. She looks cosy and comfortable. The outfit doesn't particularly scream "upper class" or "stereotypical" for me, though I don't want to further dramatise the discussion.

I like Catherine's outfit. It's a nice casual look that every woman could wear, regardless of age, race or wealth. Not sure about the skinny jeans, even if Catherine is slim, I don't think that type of jeans look that flattering on her (or anyone else's, never liked that type of fashion though). But I LOVE the boots and the red-orange blouse beneath her coat!

.

Time to move on. Before we get more and more tangled up in this discussion of stereotypes, class systems and race, let us please end this and move on - thank you!

Say it again thus is why I prefer her casual events. She dresses her age while still appropriate. Refreshing from her formal looks.

Cute coat and love the boots :flowers:

Not a fan of skinny jeans.

She looks wonderful, especially her hair, but the material of the jeans is way too thin and does her no favors. Does not flatter her legs at all, almost looks like she is wearing tights

I really love her outfit. Those boots are fantastic!

Kate definitely has the shape that a peplum waist will accentuate. It gives this suit a flair where otherwise, without it, I think it would look too "schoolmarmish".

She looks happy and confident and enjoying what she is doing.

love this outfit ! she looks really well.

She looks marvelous and appropriately dressed for each engagement.

I did not fancy the skinny jeans from yesterday, mainly because they rarely look good on someone with curves. The Duchess has a straight body type which is maybe the only body type that works well with skinny jeans.
Loved how underrated and not overly expensive her outfit yesterday was.
Granted though her 3k outfit and shoes today.. i just have a hard time with so much money spend on one outfit.

Would love to know the price for today’s outfit. And despite not loving oink I do actually like this purple-pink shade in general and specifically on her. I think it’s a shade that would also fit Meghan really well.

Today’s outfit is actually a repeat. Her shoes are new though.

Yes, her clothing is often bespoke, and therefore expensive, but at least she wears it more than once.
This is so vibrant; she looks gorgeous!

The skirt on this suit looks so nice in motion. I'd not expected that, so BONUS. She can buy and re-wear suits like this forever, IMO. Classic.

Catherine look great. I hate the DM make her and Meghan walking price tags and folks go on to complain about it. They’re senior royals and their expensive wardrobe goes along with the job. They’re royals!

Perfection all the way, Catherine is a walking role model for the young girls of today, she looks fabulous in this suit, the style fits her to a T and the color is gorgeous.....Her lovely smile says it all!

Lovely magenta colour & style. I love wearing jewel colours in winter so this is a hit with me anyway. The slim fit jacket & short full skirt are perfect for her age, height & trim figure.

I also love the black opaque tights for winter day wear (I'm in mine from October to April!) I'm not a fan of those shoes for day wear.

The color is fantastic on her, but the ensemble itself I don´t care for. Not then, and not now. I really rate her heels though. They´re quite sassy and would look even more amazing when worn with a suit or an LBD

I also like the color, really nice. But the whole outfit...I'm not a fan of that type of suits, the skirt looks okay but I really don't like the top. But that's my taste, because she still looks lovely. I don't care much about the new shoes and I think the bag is ugly.

Really liked her jacket and boots from yesterday..not a fan of the pants. I'd love to have the jacket and boots.

Today was a great color. Not a fan of those black tight things but I know it's a thing over there. Loved her shoe.

Re: yesterday's skinny jeans/trousers
Are they a thing in the US & elsewhere or is it just here? I'm asking because lots of people on this forum seem to hate them but they're very popular here across the generations. Having said that, my mother at 88 wouldn't be seen dead in them & of course not everyone likes them but I wear them (in my 60s) as do all my friends & also my daughter does & all her friends. I think I've seen Kate's Mum in them too.
