I don't dislike all wedges, just certain styles. The ones Kate wore yesterday are just not attractive to me, but I love the ones she's wearing today. I think they're very cute and go really well with the dress.

A mishap can always occur, even for someone accustomed to and confident in wearing a higher heel. A flat shoe or her boat shoes would have been better for a quick change to the visit on that site; we'd have forgiven Kate for sacrificing style for safety.
But as I said in my previous post, those wedges did suit the look of her wrap dress... on more solid ground.

Yep, she almost took a tumble at the vineyard. That's why I was hoping she would have ditched the wedges when they visited the lookout.

The white dress is lovely. I like how relaxed it is without it being stiff or too tailored. I don't mind the wedges at all with this look as it works well.

I personally dont mind wedges, I wear the spanish Alpargatas (wedge style) through the whole summer as I find them very comfortable. It's just that they don't go with all outfits and Kate wears them, imo, when they are not suitable.
|
I'm in agreeement DOM, I love the dress but the wedges don't go for me this time. I pair of coloured flats would have been nice.

I love this white dress but I think the curse of the wedges has struck again.
http://whatkatewore.com/wp-content/u...00-x-1200-.jpg
I think it may be because the entire base of the wedges are rigid that she doesn't seem to be able to get a good centre of balance. Because of this she seems to slouch and stick her head forward and lead. with her chin.

That close up of the wedges reveal more than we need to see. She needs moisturiser on her heels!!

At the risk of sounding like I am equivocating, I like this dress but...
I think the sleeve length is wrong for her. This long she looks either like a prairie schoolgirl or an older lady.
The second has to do with the fit of the dress. I noticed this at the sheep-shearing - so it happened throughout. When she reached with her arms, the dress pulled up in front. It's perfectly illustrated in this picture. The waist pulls up and so does the skirt just like ringing a bell. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/...50_964x609.jpg It just needed some ease somewhere to keep this from happening.
Finally, I too wish they had gone barefoot. Sand is a gift to mere morals (even royal mortals) and feels spectacular. But if you think the Duchess's shoes were a problem, then consider that William wore suede on the beach. Of course, I suppose sand would clean suede, but that is not the point. See here: http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/...6_964x1123.jpg

Yeah, she seems to favor "baby doll" dresses which are more suitable for younger ladies. The longer length makes it more appealing to be sure but still too young for her I feel.

Her white outfit is sooo beautiful and very spring. I don't know about babydoll dress-here in the US they're called fit and flare dresses, too.

Reminds me of those awful "Gunne Sax" dresses from the 70s. Uck!
Cute dress for a "tween."

I can't attribute that to the wedges, because I think she looks like that most of the time. Maybe the poor posture is attributable to the height of the heels she usually wears, and this includes the wedges, but I've noticed that her head seems to stick forward most of the time, hence the hair flopping forward on both sides of her head rather than down her back. Though this might just be due to not standing up straight.

I agree. I thought that dress was far too young for her. She seems to prefer young styles though.

I really like the dress worn for the Easter show, Bear Cottage and Manly Beach. Loathe the wedges that she wore.

I'm not a huge fan of this dress. I don't particularly like the lacy decoration, and I agree with those who think it's more suited to someone of a younger age than her. I don't particularly like the wedges either, they're not really my style.

I don't think the dress looks tween or too young. I've seen this style on lots of women Kate's age.
I love this love this outfit...it's perfect for summer.
