I love her necklace. But I find the gloves odd with short sleeves. And not a fan of her hat

See the Max jewelry forum. That's an old family necklace not see in decades. With diamonds and turquoise. It helps put the dress choice in context. And I'm not a fan of the gloves and head leach thingie either.

i really like this dress - specially the 'green' part which, IMO, adds 'the touch' to this outfit.
Mattijs van Bergen seems to be a great designer for maxima. he created this lovely gala dress maxima wore in china, this dress she wore in japan and NL and this fabulous deep red gala dress which fits maxima like a glove. just as jan taminiau is maxima's go-to designer for gala gowns, it seems that mattijs is maxima's go-to designer for foreign events! i am looking forward to seeing her wearing more of him!

I really like the dress too. It looks like linen and the green is a nice accent. The necklace is terrific, has she worn it before? And, the idea of the gold shoes with it looks really nice for a change. The short cotton gloves with a summer dress is a classic, go Maxima!
Thank you Carlota, for the other examples of this designer, all some of my faves. Great use of a lot of gorgeous fabrics.

I cant believe I like a N dress but this one I do! Because the bodice fits, for once, and the very nice perky sleeve. Her hair and hat are just perfect for the occasion. The earrings really make the outfit.

Now there is the Maxima I love to see.
Beautiful updo, wonderful earrings and a very chic real hat
Love this dress. Natan can make a lovely dress when he tries, this one of her better from him.

I'm sure I've seen her in more glamorous sunglasses than these ones!
As for the outfit, it's one of my favourites, beautifully accessorised and works really well with the gold shoes instead of the buff coloured ones.

I loved Maxima's outfit for race day, hat, dress, everything. It fitted well and she looked elegant. I'm not so fond of the all orange dress for the War Memorial, it was a bit much, especially as it was lacy. However, Maxima generally wears something with orange in it, especially on tours, so it was to be expected, I suppose. She's still one of my all time favourite royals!

Hmm - the all orange. I understand that choice completely, I just don't favor orange. So when she does this, I have to look beyond color.
The shoes are fabulous, the hat is meh. As to dress design, it's fine except for the hem lining. Why hem the lining short and the lace longer? What fashion point does it make except to cut you in two below the waist? I understand the design idea behind hi low and asymmetrical hems. But this high lining thing always looks cheap. To me this just always looks like the designer was trying to save money on lining material.

i agree. i love all the items themselves but i would have preferred if she matched different colours as opposed to doing everything in one colour. maybe an orange and dark blue combination? it is otherwise too matchy-matchy.
but i do like the dress, the hair, the shoes and hat. i think they all look superb today. the dress reminds me of the one wore by kate recently to ascot.
