Yes indeed. It's the Empress Maria Feodorovna diamond and sapphire tiara (or bandeau). It has a sunburst or sunray design and is one of the many treasures languishing in the vaults. It was bought by Queen Mary, passed on her death to the present Queen and was worn occasionally by Princess Margaret. It is currently in the possessaion of HM and sadly hasn't seen the light of day for decades.

Cleaned and polished, and under the right lighting, the diamonds would flash very nicely indeed. :)

There are a few pics about but none of them do it justice. Here are two thumbnails, of Queen Mary and Princess Margaret...
(note that it is more substantial than initial appearances would suggest)

Beautiful job of the tiara and choker on Kate. That's how nicely a tiara would like on proper tiara hair. More sapphires, please!

I'm not a fan of that look on the Duchess of Cambridge with the pearl choker, but everything else is stunning! Great work with photoshop Madame Royale!

I think it looks like a beauty pageant tiara. It does not compare with the tiaras we have seen worn by British senior royalty. Even the tiny halo tiara the Duchess of Cambridge wore looks more polished and elegant than this one.

I was inspired by the Royal Order of Sartorial Splendor's post about the Duke of Westminster collection and thought that the Faberge Myrtle Wreath tiara would look stunning on the Duchess of Cambridge. Of course, she'll never get the chance to wear this tiara, but I figured it would be a fun thing to try out. Here it is (sorry, it's not all that good... I'm new at this whole Photoshop thing, haha!): http://oi39.tinypic.com/zxs1ft.jpg.

I also did one of the gorgeous Crown Princess Mary of Denmark in the equally gorgeous Diamond Daisy tiara. Obviously she'll never wear it, but I thought something simple and elegant would look great on her. Here: http://oi40.tinypic.com/i6z1vm.jpg.

You did a fantastic job I think and picked out the tiara from that collection that is totally perfect for Kate. The tiara and Kate's hair look like they're made for each other in your photoshop work!

The lady-in-waiting of Princess Mary has a similar tiara, hasn't she? It's also similar to Princess Mathilde only tiara too.

Yes, Caroline Heering has similar tiara, it's family piece.

I love Mette-Marit with that tiara!

Oh, lovely work, M-M would look phenomenal in that tiara. Now that's the type of tiara she ought to wear as a crown princess.

Queen Josephine's Diamond Tiara on Crown Princess Mette-Marit looks lovely doesn't it. It really will suit her when she wears it in the future.:flowers:

Now I'm not a proponent of the daisy tiara, but on Mary it looks wonderful! It stands out beautifully against her dark hair and her updo; that really displays the tiara so well. You really do fine work in your Photoshop lab!

I liked these pictures very much and got quite a different approach to tiaras in general. Thank you.
