Newly-Engaged Harry and Meghan Meet The Press At Kensington Palace
Hours after their engagement was confirmed by Clarence House, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have held a brief photocall at Kensington Palace this afternoon.
The beaming couple posed for photographs in the Sunken Gardens, a favourite location of Prince Harry’s late mother, Diana. The Prince said that he knew Meghan was ‘the one’ “the very first time” they met; while Meghan described his proposal – which took place in London earlier this month – as “very romantic”.
Ms Markle – her green P.A.R.O.S.H. dress hidden beneath a white wrap coat Line the Label – happily showed off her diamond engagement ring, which was confirmed by the Palace as having been designed by Prince Harry and made by Cleave and Company, court jewellers and medalists to Her Majesty the Queen. It features three diamonds: the central diamond was mined from Botswana, while the two outside diamonds come from the private collection of Diana, Princess of Wales.
At 6pm local time this evening, an interview with the engaged couple will air on the BBC, hosted by Michelle Husain.
