Princess Christina Diagnosed With Leukaemia

The Swedish Royal Court has announced this morning that Princess Christina, Mrs Magnuson, sister of King Carl XVI Gustaf, has been diagnosed with chronic leukaemia and will undergo treatment this autumn.

She will naturally be heavily reducing her official engagements over the coming months to focus on her health.

The statement also said the Princess and her family hope the public understand the situation and allow her to complete her treatment in peace.

Princess Christina has previously suffered from breast cancer, receiving chemotherapy and radiation in 2010 to beat the disease.
