Prince Harry Takes HIV Test Encouraging Others To Do The Same
Continuing his work with HIV awareness, Prince Harry has taken a quick-response HIV test during a visit to Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. The test was live-streamed on Facebook to illustrate how fast the new tests work, as well as raise awareness on the importance of being tested.
“Whether you’re a man, woman, gay, straight, black, white, whatever, even ginger, why wouldn’t you come and have a test?” Harry said after getting his finger pricked for the blood draw that was then placed into a vial for analysis. It came back negative, allowing the Prince, who had admitted he was a little nervous, a sigh of relief.
“It is amazing how quick it is,” he said as he spoke with the psychotherapist performing the test.
Prince Harry will be attending and speaking at the International AIDS Conference in South Africa next week.
