The King and Queen of Spain completed their French state visit earlier today, bidding farewell to the city that gave them an overwhelmingly warm reception.

In the morning, King Felipe had a breakfast meeting with French and Spanish businessmen at the Spanish Embassy. The King emphasised the relationship between France and Spain in regards to trade, and encouraged the “increase in cooperation between companies” of the two countries to “launch joint projects and create jobs.”

The King was then joined by his wife for a visit to the Cervantes Institute of Paris, where they attended a meeting of Spanish scholars in the Institute’s library.

Later, Felipe and Letizia attended the closing session of the Hispano-French Economic Meeting at the Intercontinental Grand Hotel. The King delivered a speech that urged the continued economic and trade relationship between France and Spain.

Before they left France, King Felipe and Queen Letizia paid a private visit to the Grand Palais to view the new exhibition on the Lumiere brothers, The Invention of Cinema. The couple posed for photos with members of the French Gendarmerie that provided their escort during the visit outside the Palais.
