Queen Sofia Opens Madrid Book Fair

Queen Sofia of Spain today opened the annual Madrid Book Fair in Retiro Park.

She toured the fair, which has over 470 exhibitors, seeing what all the stands had to offer. The Queen visited a number of stalls, including those of major publishers Random House and Penguin, as well as smaller stalls like Adela and Añana Salt Valley. She also went through the children’s pavilion, and SamSung Hall which showcases how technology can be used for reading and education.

This year is the 74th time the fair has been held, and will run until June 14.
