Crown Princess Mary of Denmark this morning paid a visit to the Ruds Vedby School where she saw the Danish Mental Health Foundation’s ‘Reach Out Bus’ and sat in on a mental health and well-being class.

She was welcomed by the school’s principal, the Foundation’s president and the Mayor of Sorø Municipality, where Ruds Vedby is located. A number of school children and locals were also outside waiting to greet Mary when she arrived, receiving high fives and a hand shake before she went inside the bus for the hour and half long lesson.

The ‘Reach Out Bus’ is a joint project arranged by the Danish Mental Health Foundation, of which Mary is patron, and the TrygFoundation to help “encourage children and young people’s mental health by strengthening their own resources and skills”. The Bus will travel throughout the Zealand region over the coming years to provide education to as many students and teachers as possible.
