Zara Philips & Mike Tindall Wedding Information

There is less than a week to go until the second British Royal wedding this year. Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Phillips MBE, is due to marry Mike Tindall MBE, in a small ceremony on 30 July. The wedding will take place at Canongate Kirk on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Very little information has been released or leaked about the wedding, but what we do know is that Zara’s dress will be designed by the Queen’s favourite couturier, Stewart Parvin. Zara has worn Parvin’s creations before at events like Royal Ascot and the Epsom Derby. There have been several articles that Zara’s half sister, Felicity Tonkin, will not recieve an invitation to the wedding as the pair have never met despite being relatives.

Unlike her royal cousin’s wedding back in April, the Edinburgh ceremony will not be broadcast live and Zara has had to re-neg on a half a million pound magazine deal with Hello! because Buckingham Palace has said the event must remain private. The decision comes after Peter Phillips sold the picture rights to his wedding back in 2008 and Her Majesty The Queen was not consulted about his choice.  Apparently the whole royal family were kept in the dark about the magazine deal, and royals believed the pictures would be for a private family album and not to grace the pages of a glossy magazine.

However in a nod to her grandparents, Zara has decided to hold a pre-wedding event on the Royal Yacht Britannia. Britannia was decommissioned in 1997, but the yacht was used by Zara’s now-divorced parents, the Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, for their 1973 honeymoon. These days the vessel is berthed at Edinburgh’s historic port of Leith and billed as Scotland’s top visitor attraction.

Despite the quietness of this wedding, the country is looking forward to something to celebrate in this wonderful summer.
