I agree. Plus I am sure they were all beautifully made. Young mothers today would probably have dressed son in a Mickey Mouse tank and jeans thinking that was proper and modern. Everyone taste certain is different. I too prefer the classic look for all special occasions, even church, weddings and especially funerals to which all small children seem to attend in this day and age. When play time and muddy is the norm, jeans perfect. JMO

Why is it people only see extremes??? Either dressing a child like a 1890's portrait or 'jeans and a tank top.' Just like women don't have to dress look like a 50's housewife to look appropriate, there are appropriate well dressed modern kid's clothes. Those outfits Harry and Will wore as kids, were old fashioned in the 80's. George's I can live with. The one I feel bad for is poor Albert who is probably embarrassed to be dressed in his little sailor suit. Hard enough having your clasmates seeing you on television, even at his age, but looking like Huey, Louis and Duey doesn't help.

Liked the overall effect. The shoes were nice and the dress was pretty but did not like the coat. The coat looked too big. The sleeves on the coat flared out.
(I am convinced Sophie give Louise her hand me downs.)
What was on her head? It looked liked a headband that was falling out. Maybe a small floral arrangement on her bun would have looked better.

Very pretty outfit. The dress and sweater are nice. The hair was styled beautifully, well except for that hair accessory but it was an improvement over the day before.

Louise in the trench coat with frilled back detail was perfect for the walk about. Nice to see her confident.

I loved the little boys on the balcony. The sailor suit was cute and George always looks like a smart little boy in his shirts and shorts. Smocking never goes out of fashion for babies of any age and white shirts with French blue trim are timeless. George wears what I see other little boys wear when they are at a formal occasion. (wedding or Christening) It's just that Geprge attends more formal events than most kids.
When he's spotted at horse trials he is wearing regular, informal, Summer play clothes.

Loved Leonore at a luncheon in her little white frock with blue trim after meeting her horse in Sweden. The children in the Belgium Royal Family always look adorable as do Stella and baby siter Magdalena of Austria. The Monaco twins are dressed in a cute way too. Royal children dress well without much effort; affordability is not an issue. So, I really like when special or home made outfits are kept in good order and reworn by the next generation.
Estelle and George look lovely in their vintage outfits.

I think children have all looked wonderful, dressed in dressy but comfortable clothing. I love the traditional clothing that that the British children wear.

I like the way that Edward & Sophie dress the children
.And as for Sophie she always looks fantastic

I have to say, I wouldn't mind being on the receiving end of some of Sophie's hand me downs! Louise's coat, however, was not one of Sophie's - it was a new one from Zara. Coat. It's also from the women's section, not the children's section. She's getting too big for children's clothes!

I loved her trench coat from yesterday and i've looked EVERYWHERE for it. I can't find it on any fashion website. No idea where it is from but it's beautiful.

:previous: I agree that Louise is likely out of the children's section as she is very tall for her age IMO. I would guess that she is as tall as Amaila of the NL.

Lady Louise looked wonderful in all of her outfits. It's lovely to see her grow up.

I saw a few fleeting images of Margarita Armstrong-Jones who also looked quite grown-up. Does anybody have better pictures?

(I love this thread! I can't believe I discovered it only today!! :flowers:)

Lady Louise's lovely trench coat was by Monsoon Monsoon Trench Coat

Her lovely lace dress from the photo for the Queen's 90th birthday was also by Monsoon - Lace dress.

I found them by myself when I was on Monsoon looking for a dress for myself and thought i'd look in the children's clothes to see if I could find Louise's trench coat and I was right!

Princess Ingrid-Alexandra is wearing a Ralph Lauren dress today Princess Ingrid-Alexandra

Ralph Lauren dress

I think Ingrid-Alexandra is dressed frequently in Ralph Lauren. Some of their dresses are lovely for girls.

I think Ingrid Alexandra's dress was nice and cool for summer. She also looked sweet in the national costume.

Leonor and Sofia's outfits were nice and casual, I like Sofia's top. Leonor and Letizia seem to be coordinating outfits! :)

I love Ingrid Alexandra's dress. The lace collar is a nice touch.

Leonor and Sofia look cute in their casual looks :flowers:

IA looks pretty but the dress looks a bit young for her. She is getting to that age where she is like Louise until recently, parents still seem to be dressing her as a younger girl. At 12, she is almost a teen, and I think there is a way for her to still look good for official events while still age appropriate. IMO the dress would not look out of place on a 8 year old. Kind of reminds me of the Dutch triple A dresses, in that they used to all wear the same dress so they chose something appropriate for all 3 ages. I felt bad for CA as she was dressed like twins with her two little sisters.

Ingrid's blue dress is very beautiful and elegant.

Just looking at these last few photos, Louise, Ingrid, Sofia, Leonor, all these girls are turning into lovely young ladies. Time flies, and this giraffe is getting old.

:previous: Elisabeth's dress is beautiful, red suits her a lot. I like her shoes too, the colour is pretty and works well with the red dress.
Is this the same dress she wore in Lille?

I don't know what exactly she's worn in Lille (dress or top with skirt/pants), as I've only seen pics of her upper part ;) but it's not been the same red dress:

Kate does dress her children impeccably. George is a mini-William. It reminds me of times when william attended polo matches when he was a child.

You stated my thoughts perfectly. George is a carbon copy of his father and his outfits are always perfect and appropriate for whatever the occasion may be. I love that George's (and Charlotte's) outfits lack the pictures of any cartoon characters or unnecessary flair.

I think the AAA's looked lovely at the photoshoot today. I particularly like Amalia's dress, it makes her look quite grown up and that lace is beautiful.

Perfect little outfit :) Super standard. Not too modern, not too traditional. Very standard, but for a reason :)

I agree. I thought George's outfit was sweet - and I adore his little shoes!
