Textured white outfit for the 73rd Agency for Cultural Affairs National Arts Festival's opening Kabuki performance "Heike Nyogo no Shima" at the National Theatre on October 1st:
2 outfits in Oita Prefecture for the 33rd National Cultural Festival and 18th National Arts & Culture Festival for Persons with Disabilities on October 6:
I love the white outfit she wore on 10/1, but the blue suit that she wore for the cultural festival, though very nice, is not tailored to her body at all. Much too shapeless. It's nice to see her out so much lately, and looking happy, relaxed, & confident.
CP Masako at the 42nd National Tree Growing Festival in Tokyo on November 17. This is the "tending the tree" part of the festival. I think the main ceremony is the next day.
The November 17th's burgundy skirt suit + print blouse, cuffs, and lapels is at least 20 years old. CP Masako wore it on February 12, 1998 when then-Hereditary Grand Duke Henri and Hereditary Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg visited Japan for the Nagano Winter Olympics.
I must say, she looks really gorgeous today, that is a wonderful color on her and the design is fabulous. This is one of the very best outfits I have seen in a long time on her....hope it continues!
From what could be seen it looks nice on her, a shawl collar with a straight skirt perhaps. It is the fabric that I love, seems like a nice creme brocade which is nice for the fall/winter seasons. Glad to see her out and doing things, have always liked her and felt sad for her also.
Thanks Iceflower, maybe it is a dress with a jacket over it, however, the jacket bottom is not something I would wear as I do not like curved bottoms on jackets or blouses or anything, always seems like a diaper to me hanging down. I do like the collar and the fabric though.
How beautiful she looks! The gown itself is standard, and not especially noteworthy, but who cares? It's great to see her, and her smile and the pride in Naruhito's face overshadows everything else.
