Great to se our lovely Mary back even only for a couple of days.
She needs of course to be with their children, but I do miss seeing her when she is not around for so long. But you will never regrets the time you spend on your children.

I have thought all morning that a cancellation very well could become a reality now that Covid-19 is in such wide spread.

A pity because I looked forward to seeing and hearing the opening speech of the Crown Princess. Always very informative. Plus we can be sure Crown Princess Mary has spent a lot of time and put a lot of work into the speech and preparation for the visit.

But most important: that's a responsible decision now that Covid-19 has proven to be spreading globally so quickly. And France is hard affected.

Well, that's almost certainly not going to be the last event to be cancelled.

You are right Muhler, we have as yet few cases and more self-isolating but even in the dying days of Summer, early Autumn we do have cases. Last weekend it was in the low 30°s so temperature doesn't seem to affect the spread of the virus so many engagements at close quarters may be postponed.

I would be wrong but it seemed there was no enthusiastic hand shaking and when they all posed for their photo instead of standing close as is usual everybody seemed to stand just outside the next person's 'personal space. Interesting development.

CP Mary today 14 May:

"Today I met with Development Minister Rasmus Prehn, where - as you can see at a good distance - we discussed both the short and long-term consequences of the Covid19 crisis for girls and women's everyday lives around the world, in relation to education, violence, maternal mortality , child marriages, unwanted pregnancies ..and I could stay.

Overall reproductive health and rights. We also talked about our shared concern about the risk of losing the progress of girls and women achieved so far. And about the importance of focusing on how the pandemic specifically affects girls and women, and on how we ensure that our response to the crisis reflects just that."

Very important topic.
It must feel great to meet in person again.
And this map room is often where we see Frederik hold meetings, nice to see from a different angle.

Yes, they are coming out of isolation as well, so I guess we will see them out and about within a couple of weeks.

I think QMII will hold back this side of the summer holidays.

Queen Margrethe is a heavy smoker and she's over 65 years old. Therefore, she would be wise to avoid crowds until this Covid-19 nightmare is over.

Yes. Many of the older royals will be seen only via video for quite some time - probably until we have herd immunity, however that is reached, and the virus is fully contained. Elizabeth II, Harald and Sonja, Carl Gustav and Silvia, Margrethe; they're all at high risk due to their ages. Charles and Camilla are in the risk group too. The next generation will be quite prominent in the next few years in the public absence of their elders.

Today, Crown Princess Mary attends the inaguration of the new 'Holmegaard Værk'.

Today Denmark opens even more up, and from today on we are allowed to gather 50 people in public and thus at official events. So from now on we can see both F&M’s calender and the Queen’s calender are again listed with official events and today’s event is the DRF’s first real official event, maybe except of Crown Prince Frederik speaking at Green Day, but it was still at that time a very little event with only very few people presented.

So great to see Mary back. She looks sweet and lovely!

Isn't her hair usually a bit darker?

:previous: It is a new large nature adventure park in mid west Jutland. A place where you can feel the power of the nature.

I saw the live broadcast:

It was not part of the official program, but Crown Princess Mary would nevertheless see and try to stand in the storm from the storm machine.
It happened in front of a kindergarten, and the children were clapping enthusiastically of their Crown Princess as both her hair and jacket were almost blown of her :D

The Crown Princess said she thought the park would be a good activity for children.

"I think it's very important that children learn to observe the world they live in," she said.

She also said she felt that her and the Crown Prince's children would enjoy a visit to the park.

No prize for guessing whether M&F will take their children to Naturkraft on a cloudy summerday or in the autumn holiday. Naturkraft is located only an hours scenic drive from Trend.

Crown Princess opened the experience arena Naturkraft in Ringkøbing today, June 12:

So many great and fun pictures from today’s event in the nature park :flowers:

BB video
(Short, but it shows also Mary has to remind herself not to greet people by shaking hands. It is difficult because we are so use to it)

Looks like a fun event today.
It so great to see visits again. Mary looks wonderful

When the visit to Naturkraft was over Mary went to Ringkøbing town to look at a sculpture at a square there.
That was outside the schedule and came as a surprise to the locals who happened to be there.

The sculpture is Miss Ringkøbing that has been created by her father-in-law:
https://dbrs.dk/artikel/også-miss-ringkøbing-sørger-over-prinsen#slide0

Lene Balleby from the PR office at the DRF, was contacted yesterday and suggested that Mary might wish to see the sculpture, so a man was dispatched to clean the sculpture of pigeon... eh ofpigeon-leftovers.
Lene Balleby is also from Ringkøbing.

While admiring the sculpture a friend of M&F, the journalist Anders Agger, came by and had a chat with Mary.
You can see a blurred photo of the two here: https://dbrs.dk/artikel/mary-besøgt...insessen-aflagde-overraskende-besøg-på-torvet

Today, July 13, Crown Princess Mary delivered a virtual opening speech at the annual panel debate on women's rights during the 44th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva:

Speech for Copenhagen Pride Week

Next year, Copenhagen will host the international event Copenhagen 2021, which aims to ensure equal rights for LGBTI + people all over the world.
The Crown Princess is the patron of Copenhagen 2021, which takes place on 12-22. August in 2021 in Copenhagen and Malmö."

Thanks, Polyesco. :flowers:

Mary's speech is well covered here in DK. Not least it's the first time ever, that a royal is heading a large international LGBT event.
Even though the Pride parade has been reduced to smaller, local events, due to Corona.

But Mary's speech was anticipated with great expectation by the LGBT community.

https://www.bt.dk/samfund/kronprinsesse-mary-til-pride-show-alle-har-ret-til-at-hoere-til

Mary's speech was very much about the right to be who we are, also in regards to sexual orientation.
She also mentioned that DK is in the lead in regards to official acceptance and recognition of LGBT rights, including the right to marry and adopt children.

- I can in that context add that another country very close to DK, has just decreased the rights of LGBT people. That includes a ban on same-sex couple holding hands in public, let alone kissing and showing other forms of affection towards persons of the same sex.

A strong speech! About being allowed to be who you are. As previously written, the speech has been received with applause.

We know from Crown Prince Frederik that Crown Princess Mary writes her own speeches, and she holds them in a heartfelt spoken language.

- If rights are to matter, they must live and breathe. ❤️
