Denmark’s Crown Prince Couple Receive Donation for Humanitarian Fund

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary accepted a donation for their humanitarian fund on January 27, from the sales of a Greenlandic charity stamp issued in 2006. The stamp was published by Post Greenland, who presented the Crown Prince Couple with a cheque for 250,000 Danish kroner. It is believed the money will go towards helping children in Greenland. As the patron of the Danish Refugee Council, Crown Princess Mary accepted a donation of 3.2 million Swedish Kroner on January 29th for the charity’s Danish Demining Group. The donation came from Postkodlotteriet, a Swedish lottery foundation. The money will go towards clearing mines in Sri Lanka. Mary has been patron of the Danish Refugee Council since 2005.
