Prince Moulay Rachid Ties The Knot

On Sunday 15th June, the Ministry of Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery of Morocco announced the wedding of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, the brother of King Mohammed VI, with Miss Boufarès Umm Kulthum.

The ceremony was presided by King Mohammed VI in the Royal Palace of Rabat. The 43 year old groom is the youngest male child of the late King Hassan II. He was the Crown Prince of Morocco from 1999 until 2002.

Umm Kulthum is the daughter of Moulay Mamoun Boufares. Her father held several major positions in the Ministry of Interior and was deputy general manager of football club Marrakech. Umm Kulthum was raised in the Royal Palace and was educated at the Royal College. She is a native of the city of Marrakech.
