Hmm, I would have to agree with you. Mary doesn't have a really defined "waist" and these little same colour and fabric inserts around the waist, on what is essentially an A-Line dress, merely accentuate the problem. T

The totally unadorned dress is so stark as to resemble the dreaded summer school uniform and believe me, that is not a good thing. That's why for me, colour notwithstanding, this dress is a big miss.

Love the blue dress, but I would call it periwinkle blue, it veers toward lavender. She looks great with the boat neck and 3/4 length sleeves. Love the earrings.
Cherry blossom dress is fine and nice nod to visit.
Her hair is looking a little orange to me, especially in some pictures with the burgundy dress.

I like all three dresses, the colours are beautiful especially the burgundy/wine coloured dress. I think they all fit very well and Mary has chosen very appropriate outfits for a visit to Japan.

With regard to the "cherry blossom" dress, this is photographic print I think. It's a clever way to make a pattern and the additional lace at the waist works well.

Reports have mentioned the designer of the pale blue dress was designer Jesper Hovring. It was a custom dress made for the event/trip.

No idea yet by which designer is the burgundy dress by.

Mary indeed looks gorgeous today. I'm a sucker for those tweed coats and hats and the 60s elegance. A time where women dressed as women. I love her hair and hat.
She wears Queen Ingrid's sapphire brooch.

I also see Frederik has switched to his usual short summer haircut.

I was thinking exactly the same thing - Mary looks gorgeous and I am sure she has bumped up her wardrobe a notch or two in recent times swell as her accessories.
