Queen Elizabeth Takes Home A Trophy on Final Day of Ascot
It was a banner final day at Royal Ascot for Queen Elizabeth, as she watched on with glee – and suspense – as her horse Dartmouth took out the Hardwicke Stakes.
After a steward’s enquiry found no fault with the win, the 90-year-old monarch, dressed in a fetching deep blue coat with an aqua blue hat – was presented with the owner’s trophy and a bottle of Bollinger champagne by her granddaughter Princess Beatrice. The Queen hasn’t had a winner at Ascot since 2013.
Also in attendance for the final day were the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, and Princess Eugenie.
