Queen Elizabeth Takes Home A Trophy on Final Day of Ascot
It was a banner final day at Royal Ascot for Queen Elizabeth, as she watched on with glee – and suspense – as her horse Dartmouth took out the Hardwicke Stakes.
After a steward’s enquiry found no fault with the win, the 90-year-old monarch, dressed in a fetching deep blue coat with an aqua blue hat – was presented with the owner’s trophy and a bottle of Bollinger champagne by her granddaughter Princess Beatrice. The Queen hasn’t had a winner at Ascot since 2013.
Also in attendance for the final day were the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, and Princess Eugenie.Filed under The United Kingdom
